Discover HAP's New Web Features

In 2007, HAP asked what SHIPs needed to strengthen their programs, and ultimately reach more Medicare beneficiaries. Our new Web site reflects your requests for program development tools, such as web-based management systems and volunteer recruitment and retention tips, and Medicare education tools, including skills-based training.

HAP recognizes the amazing services you provide in an ever-changing environment, and we are here to help.

What's HAPpening NEW!
This new section will keep you "in the know" with syntheses of national policy issues that affect SHIPs and the beneficiaries you serve.

FAQs Updated!
The revamped FAQ section has answers to technical questions about Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Drug Coverage, and SHIPTools. Email us at shiphelp@hapnetwork.org, if you have a complex technical request, and let us do some footwork for you.

Building Your SHIP
This new resource center focuses on program development tools and resources that can be modified and used to meet your unique needs.

Collaborative State Projects (CSP) NEW!
Our new CSP section has replicable products, such as a Volunteer Recruitment Toolkit and a Medicare Part D Training Manual developed in collaboration with SHIP programs participating in a 12-month CSP.
SHIPTools NEW!
HAP is excited to share background and technical information about SHIPTools, a customizable, web-based management system developed in partnership with the Ohio and Iowa SHIP programs.
Volunteer Program Development (VPD) NEW!
This new section focuses on strategies to help SHIP programs recruit, orient & train, and manage volunteers, with tools such as sample advertisements, counseling materials, and evaluation surveys.
Best Practices Updated!
Celebrating SHIP Successes is an expanding compilation of amazing SHIP initiatives from across the network. Each best practice package contains a Q&A with a SHIP leader and materials that the SHIP has offered to the SHIP network for replication.

Charting Your Course
This new resource center has resources to explain the technical aspects of Medicare as well as user-friendly counseling tools.

Reference Library Updated!
HAP’s reference library has a collection of resources for researching complex cases.
