Through the early autumn, many SHIPs have awaited announcements of the changes and updates to Medicare Drug Coverage for 2009. The Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Finder for 2009 is now online. Also, the landscapes of plans shows that Part D plans in 2009 will have significant differences than in the past. As the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) approaches, SHIPs are working to incorporate all the latest information into their new counselor trainings as well as update trainings.
Join us on this month's conference call to review the most recent revisions and added features on the Plan Finder. Feel free to share how your SHIP is training both new and experienced counselors on the newest version of these tools. In addition, we will review some notable changes in the Landscapes of Local Plans. Join the SHIP discussion on the ways SHIPs are preparing counselors to help beneficiaries who will be affected by the fluctuation in available plans, particularly those eligible for the Low-Income Subsidy (LIS).
IMPORTANT NOTE: On this call, many SHIPs reported issues they were experiencing with the Plan Finder. According to the CMS SHIP Team, SHIPs should send questions and issues to ship@cms.hhs.gov.
