Congratulations! You made it through another Annual Enrollment Period. It is time to take a well-deserved deep breath as the early months of the New Year bring a unique set of challenges. From Medicare Advantage enrollments and disenrollments to transition fills at the pharmacy to Best Available Evidence (BAE), now is the time SHIPs face a more varied range of assistance requests.
On this call we talked about the 2008 Annual Enrollment Period and how it went in your area. Throughout the AEP, HAP heard from SHIPs across the country about a wide range of experiences. The common themes we identify in this call could lead to proposed solutions. While some aspects of Part D remain the same, many changes are in effect for this new plan year. Plans shifted coverage and costs more than ever before, and there is a new BAE policy in effect.
