Medicare Drug Coverage:
Enrollment

If beneficiaries delay enrolling in Part B upon initial eligibility for Medicare because of continued employment insurance coverage, do they qualify for a SEP for Part D when no longer employed? If so, when does it start and how long does it last? If beneficiaries instead wait until the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) (with the plan going into effect on January 1), would they receive a penalty?

Does a beneficiary who no longer needs hospice care receive a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to enroll in a Part D plan?

What is the sequence of events for those people who received letters concerning auto-assignment and switching plans?

Do those Medicare beneficiaries who are automatically enrolled into a Part D plan have the opportunity to change plans after their enrollment takes effect?

Is there a grace period for someone who has creditable coverage but then loses it?

Is there a Special Enrollment Period for spouses of Medicare beneficiaries who lose their creditable coverage through the spouse's employer-sponsored insurance?

What happens after the 63rd day with no creditable coverage?

Is it true that a dual eligible can switch plans each month and be eligible for a different plan at the beginning of the following month? And why would someone want to do this? And if they have not chosen a plan by May 15th, are they not eligible until June 1st?

How many times can an individual who is facilitated into a Part D plan by Medicare switch plans?

How would an individual whose plan enrollment is facilitated by Medicare know about his/her right to a Special Enrollment Period?
