How would an individual whose plan enrollment is facilitated by Medicare know about his/her right to a Special Enrollment Period?

The facilitated enrollment notice sent from Medicare to recipients of the low-income subsidy includes information about the type of SEP they are eligible for based on the level of subsidy for which they qualify. Plans are notified about an individual’s facilitated enrollment through a code in the enrollment field of the transaction file sent by CMS to the plans.
