In 2007, HAP asked what SHIPs needed to strengthen their programs, and ultimately reach more Medicare beneficiaries. Our new Web site reflects your requests for program development tools, such as web-based management systems and volunteer recruitment and retention tips, and Medicare education tools, including skills-based training.

The CSP section has replicable products, such as a Volunteer Recruitment Toolkit and a Medicare Part D Training Manual developed in collaboration with SHIP programs participating in a 12-month CSP.

SHIPTools This resource center contains background and technical information about SHIPTools, a customizable, web-based management system developed in partnership with the Ohio and Iowa SHIP programs.

The VPD section focuses on strategies to help SHIP programs recruit, orient & train, and manage volunteers, with tools such as sample advertisements, counseling materials, and evaluation surveys.
