State Boards of Pharmacy
With the introduction of Medicare Part D, pharmacists are playing a large and important role in helping Medicare beneficiaries get the medications they need. Many SHIPs and other patient advocates are working closely with pharmacists. HAP has compiled a list of "State Boards of Pharmacy" for SHIPs and advocates to use. Through these boards, SHIPs can help educate pharmacists about the role of SHIPs and the various ways in which pharmacists and SHIPs can work together to help Medicare beneficiaries access their drugs through Part D plans (by, for instance, including articles or short messages in the boards' periodic newsletters and other notices and publications).
